this new years eve

when given a kiss

My 2011 top ten films

Here’s my top ten favorite films I saw this year!

1. Midnight in Paris- Woody Allen is back

2. Submarine- Richard Ayoade is bound to be my favorite director.

3. Martha Marcy May Marlene- Elizabeth Olsen is a force to be reckoned with.

4. Drive- a Neo noir that taps into the beautiful nostalgia that is film noir.

5. We Need to talk about Kevin- Lynn Ramsey is an amazing director and her feature debut is only the beginning

6. Beginners- wonderful drama about a son coping with the death of his late gay father

7. Project Nim- phenomenal documentary about the first chimp taught sign langage this film tells more about the human condition than chimps.

8. Attack the Block- Aliens land in south london bruvs beat them up nuff said! tons of fun

9. The Muppets- the greatest thing to happen to Muppets in a while this film was made with love

10. The inbetweeners movie- i like a good comedy especially one about these losers

Honorable Mentions:

Source code- Duncan Jones Sophmore feature was a great homage to the twilight zone

Hugo- Scorsese’s love letter to film really shined through and showed the work of Melies in 3d

Tucker and dale vs evil- “no one saw this movie” if half the people that went to transformers saw this they would of all enjoyed it more and the world would be a better place.

Paranormal activity 3: a worthy sequel and scarier than the first Ariel Schulman proved to be a worthy filmmaker after catfish’s mixed reviews.

This is england 88: its not a film but it was one hell of an amazing miniseries love visiting and revisiting these characters through the years.

Scream 4- loved it as much as the first one. and emma roberts is in it :)

Another Earth- great freshman indie feature from a director that wore most of the hats on set including DP

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas 3d- best christmas film this year

Tree of life- remarkable cinematography and editing
